OCTA Staff Promotion Announcements

The Office of Clinical Trial Activation is excited to announce that Erin Breed accepted the inaugural role of Associate Director, Operation & Strategy, and Janna Blaauw accepted the role of Clinical Trials Activation Manager.

The Associate Director oversees teams and resources responsible for supporting administrative and operational services and growth and maintenance within the Office of Clinical Trial Activation (OCTA). The Associate Director is responsible to provide input for developing organizational strategy and goals, building, and modeling a high-performance culture with strong engagement across campus and health partners. Erin brings nearly two decades of academic research experience to the role. Most recently, Erin oversaw the pilot team of hybrid analysts in OCTA leading to successful formal adoption of the hybrid analyst role and team structure. Erin’s leadership and oversight of pivotal process improvement projects paved the way for cross-unit collaboration to reduce activation barriers. She is a dedicated mentor and part of the UC Women’s Initiative for Professional Development.

Janna brings 15 years of research experience to the Clinical Trials Activation Manager role on the Hybrid Team 2 (HT2). Janna served as a hybrid analyst since the HT2’s inception in early 2022. Janna’s engagement and contributions to the HT2 team and campus Value Improvement project have led to continued success of the hybrid analyst role expansion.  Prior to joining OCTA, Janna was a Clinical Research Manager in the Helen Diller Comprehensive Cancer Center leading multiple teams with oversight of complex clinical trial operations.

Please join OCTA in congratulating Erin and Janna on their promotions!
